Corporate Express Strengthens Management Team

BROOMFIELD, COLORADO (September 14, 1998) - Corporate Express, Inc. (Nasdaq: CEXP), a leading supplier of goods and services to corporations that value innovative procurement solutions, announced that it has appointed a number of individuals to key leadership positions during the past several months. The addition of these key leaders will further strengthen the Company's management team and enhance its worldwide organization. Sam Reese joined the Company as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Reese was formerly the Vice President of Sales for Kinko's, Inc. Prior to leading Kinko's sales operation for five years, he held senior sales positions with British Telecom.

John Snowden joined the Company as Vice President of Merchandising. Snowden was previously the Vice President of Operations for Daisytek International. During his tenure with Daisytek, Snowden managed a number of key areas including purchasing, distribution, marketing, product management, and credit and collections.

Wayne Beacham, previously Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the Company, has been named the Western Group President for the Corporate Express Office Products division in the United States (replacing Ted Nark who is now the Managing Director of Corporate Express Australia).

Barbara Allen joined the Company as President of Corporate Supplier Solutions. Allen was formerly Executive Vice President: International Foods for The Quaker Oats Co. Prior to the International assignment, she held various management positions at Quaker including President of one of the domestic divisions, Vice President of Strategic Planning and Vice President of Marketing.

Linda Dill joined the Company as Vice President of Strategic Planning and Investor Relations. Dill was previously Vice President of Investor Relations at TCI Communications, Inc. Prior to joining TCI in June 1996, she was Director of Investor Relations for AMR Corp., a holding company of American Airlines and The SABRE Group.

Richard (Rick) Millett has been named Vice President of Acquisitions and Corporate Development. In this role, Millett has direct responsibility for domestic and international acquisitions and joint ventures. He previously served as Vice President, General Counsel at Corporate Express.

Martha Dugan Rehm joined the Company as Vice President, General Counsel. Rehm was formerly a partner with Holme Roberts & Owen LLP where she specialized for many years in securities law and corporate finance and handled major corporate transactions.

Van Hindes, who recently joined the Company, was named Vice President of Corporate Communications. Hindes' responsibilities include corporate branding activities for Corporate Express. Formerly with Gerber Products Company, Hindes was head of the corporate affairs function with responsibilities for corporate branding and communications.
