Van Hindes has overall responsibility for all internal and external communications. Hindes joined Corporate Express in 1998 as the Director of Employee Communications. Later that year he was named Vice President of Communications.

Prior to joining Corporate Express, Hindes worked for Gerber Products Company from 1981-1998 in Labor Relations, then Corporate Communications. Hindes graduated from the University of Michigan with a bachelor's degree in psychology, and with a law degree from Thomas M. Cooley .
